A couple months ago, I gave a talk at EmMeCon on a topic near and dear to my heart- where the trends in technology are going, and what the astute technical manager needs to be aware of to stay competitive in the ever-changing landscape.

I've reworked the outline of that talk in to a five-part essay, and am sharing it with you on my blog. My tentative outline looks like this:

• Part III: Making the Most of your Technology - The Historical Perspective
• Part IV: Making the Most of your Technology - Go with the Flow
• Part V: Making the Most of your Technology - A Few Words of Warning

I'll also follow up with a few thoughts that got cut from the talk since it was peripheral and off-topic to the main point of the talk, but that work just fine in the context of a blog.
